Description
The course manual can be completed by pupils either independently or with adult support at home or school. The mini course is 1/3 of the full Mindful & Wellbeing course which consists of 9 modules.
This mini-course includes the full module of Thoughts and the full module of Thoughts, Feelings and Behaviours, plus 2 learning sessions and 2 follow-up activities from the Mindful Wellbeing module and 1 learning session and 1 follow-up activity from the Happiness and Kindness module.
Structure of the mini course:
Breathing Technique Focuses: Counting 4/7/8 and Hand Breathing.
Mindful Moment Focuses: Mindful Walk and Squeeze & Release.
Sessions and follow-up activities:
- 2 Mindful Wellbeing sessions and 2 follow-up activities.
- 5 Thoughts sessions and 5 follow-up activities.
- 5 Thoughts, Feelings & Behaviours sessions and 5 follow-up activities.
- 1 Happiness & Kindness session and activity to finish the mini course.
- 2 pages for notes or reflection.
- 2 Quizzes.
Each session will have some information to read and also think about and talk about with a follow-up activity. The young person can work their way through the course however it fits into their life/lives. Please encourage doing a daily breathing and daily mindful focus at some point during the day; this will help your young person to live in the present moment.
You can print off the PDF and use with as many young people as you wish.

Full modules for the Mindful & Wellbeing Course:
- Module 1 – Mindful Wellbeing (how to be more mindful through using the senses, breathing and mindful moments).
- Module 2 – Fight, Flight, Freeze (how our fight, flight, freeze response works and how to help it).
- Module 3 – The Busy Mind (how to live in the present moment and switch off from our automatic pilot mode or overthinking).
- Module 4 – Stress (that we have good stress and bad stress and how to understand and deal with stressful times, including our circle of control).
- Module 5 – Thoughts (different thought processes and positive v negative thinking)
- Module 6 – Thoughts, Feelings, Behaviours (or thoughts, feelings and behaviours and how they impact each other).
- Module 7 – Choices (individual triggers and the helpful v unhelpful choices we make).
- Module 8 – Happiness and Kindness (to be kind and take care of ourselves and to support our overall wellbeing).
- Module 9 – Acceptance (To have an understanding of acceptance and how to continue to use the learning and strategies taught in the future).
- Certification of completion for you to download for each pupil who completes the course manual.
